G•IPRs News Update - Nov. 2009

From October 23 to 25, the Annual Symposium 2009 of the Committee on Intellectual Property of National Bar Association of China and the Intellectual Property Summit Forum of Chinese Lawyers were held at the International Conference Hotel of Nanjing. Focus on the Strategy of Patent Standardization ------ Specialized Legal Services in Audio Video Coding Industry by Zhong Yi, attorney at law (hereinafter "Lawyer Zhong Yi" ) was awarded the Distinguished Paper and he delivered a keynote speech on such topic on the Forum on the last day.

On October 31, 2009, Lawyer Zhong Yi attended the 1st Symposium on Intercity Legal Service of Four District across the Straits held at Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai. The representatives of Shanghai Bar Association, The Law Society of Hong Kong, Macau Lawyers Association and Taiwan Lawyers Association, and the leaders of Shanghai Financial Services Office and the Bureau of Justice of Shanghai delivered keynote speeches and discussed the relationship between legal services and municipal financial eco-environment construction, and also the market of legal services of four district across the straits, practice environment and the possibility of establishing a lawyers college and a alliance of law firms in Great China Region.

On November 3rd, 2009, Lawyer Zhong Yi attended the Symposium on Business Law held by Law Society of Barrister and Solicitor of England at Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai. Lawyer representatives of China and England made a discussion and exchange in terms of cross-border merger, the practice of international commerce arbitration, etc.
