Agreement on Rules of Orgin (WTO)

Members,

       Noting that Ministers on 20 September 1986 agreed that the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations shall aim to "bring about further liberalization and expansion of world trade", "strengthen the role of GATT" and "increase the responsiveness of the GATT system to the evolving international economic environment";

       Desiring to further the objectives of GATT 1994;

[Establishment of a Special Union; Protection of Appellations of Origin Registered at the International Bureau] *1
(1) The countries to which this Agreement applies constitute a Special Union within the framework of the Union for the Protection of Industrial Property.
